Projects

The projects, past and present, that EBUKI runs or supports, are driving our mission of fostering Earth Building and Sustainability in the Built Environment.

Do you have a project idea to find funding and submit applications in partnership with EBUKI?

See below for next steps.

The aims and outcomes of our projects span all of the pillars in Our Mission, and are run by Project Officers from within and outside of the EBUKI Executive Committee.

The evolution of EBUKI can be seen in the history of our projects. Even ‘past’ projects are very much alive, providing foundational bases for many of the current projects.

Take time exploring the list of our past and present projects, or search for something specific.

Funding comes from a range of public and third sector sources, as well as the subscriptions and generous donations from our members.

Achieving funding for a project can be a complex and time-consuming task, which is why EBUKI’s core funds from things like membership are so important in allowing the organisation to put time into funding applications, so that projects like the ones you see below can continue.

Erasmus+ Mobilities

The Erasmus Mobilities scheme provides funding for the travel, subsistence, and training of learners from one country by an organisation in another. This not only provides the opportunity to learn and experience another approach to a material and technique, but also provides exposure to a working method, an attitude, and a cultural setting which can cast an entirely new light on a topic and provide an insight into different local structures.

CobBauge

The cob houses that are commonly found in the Channel regions of France and Great Britain do not meet the current thermal regulations. So the objective of the CobBauge project is to create new cob materials and processes that are both economical and compliant with building standards while answering the needs for the preservation of the local historical heritage.

Ways you and EBUKI could work together on your project

Anyone, individual or organisation, can approach EBUKI with an idea or an existing project that fits our charitable aims. In fact, we love it! We want to support fostering Earth Building in the UK and beyond in as many ways as we can.

Whilst we are not a funding body ourselves, or a free consultancy service, we can work with you on the right projects. This might look like:

  • Connecting you with contacts, from within EBUKI or our broader network, with similar aims

  • Highlighting and helping you through the resources we have that may support your work or your funding applications

  • Access to application and bid writing support

  • Collaborating on a project or welcoming you (an individual) as an EBUKI Project Officer to deliver the project.

  • Working with you in identifying potential funding bodies

We are flexible! We are open to projects where someone from the EBUKI team takes the reins if the project aligns with someone’s passion and capacity, but are also very open to support you or your organisation in setting up your own project that you have autonomy over. We will never assume a project brief is meant for us to take on ourselves, but be sure to make clear what you imagined for the project when contacting us.

The first step to seeing if we can collaborate is to fill out the form below. We look forward to hearing from you!
