Volunteers!! We need you!
Volunteering as part of Clayfest 2024 will have many levels of reward. Even just a few hours of your time can make a HUGE impact on both your network of connections and the success of the event!
We are now welcoming volunteers to offer assistance:
Before the workshops start
During the week of workshops and the conference
After the conference has ended
We understand people have a variety of skills and experience and we want to ensure that there is space for anyone to participate in the event.
Before the festival
Do you have construction experience and want to help us set up for the event, particularly the workshop stations (since there will be so many sqm to plaster that week!) and the camping area?
Role 1: Setup Assistant.
This will involve helping to prepare various temporary small structures/walls needed for the workshops and campsite. Your expertise in construction will be invaluable in ensuring that we can efficiently undertake all the preparations needed for the workshops. This will be an 8-hour shift with equivalent reward. You’ll need to be available in the run up to July 15th.
During the festival
Would you enjoy making the event an enjoyable experience for everyone and helping it to run smoothly? Caretakers and stewards are an essential part of Clayfest 2024!
Role 2: Caretaker and Steward.
Caretakers and stewards make it easier for people to arrive and set up easily and have a nice shower after a long muddy day of learning. Maintaining our facilities' cleanliness and functionality is crucial, contributing to a positive and comfortable festival experience for everyone. Also, you will be providing assistance and guidance to attendees to ensure a lovely, and memorable experience for all. This will be a 6-hour shift with equivalent reward.
Role 3: Conference Steward
On Friday 19th July conference stewards will be welcoming participants and making sure that the access to the conference runs smoothly. You will also be there to answer their questions and provide them with information about the event. This will be a short shift of 3 hours and the corresponding equivalent reward.
After the festival
Can you see yourself wanting to extend the sense of belonging for just a little while longer to help us leave the site tidy?
Role 4: ‘Breakdown’ assistant
Our ‘breakdown’ assistants will be people with physical stamina for outdoor manual labor, with a focus on safety. The role will involve helping to dismantle workshop stations, gazebos and other small temporary structures and clear any rubbish/materials into allocated bins/skips. This will be an 8-hour shift with equivalent reward. You’ll need to be available on Sunday 21st July.
